The Terryland Water Treatment Plant Intake Works project was shortlisted for BIM excellence at the Irish Construction Excellence Awards, which took place on Friday 24th May 2024. It was a great night of showcasing and celebrating performance excellence in the Irish construction sector. AM Consulting Engineers is proud to be part of Coffey‘s design team for this important Design and Build project.
Check out our ‘Design to Reality’ video showing how our design translated to real-life solutions.
AM Consulting Engineers carried out a range of services including the design of a temporary 5m deep watertight Cofferdam to retain the River Corrib, as well as the design of a state-of-the-art 1,20mm transfer main pipeline between the new intake works and the existing raw water transfer main, including micro-tunnelled crossing of the N6 motorway. The new raw water intake will contribute to the long-term sustainability and growth of Galway’s water supply network.
This technically challenging project is a perfect example of how innovative design solutions were employed and excellence achieved from interdisciplinary collaboration.
